This! I didn’t see it so I can’t say if she was “best” or not, but the point should be that going forward, she gets every chance to play any role she wants, just like Emma Stone gets.
I think that new actors who win the first time they're nominated for an Oscar tend not to have stellar careers. Not that they do anything terrible, just that they don't seem to get really good roles after winning. Those who don't win their first time out seem to have stronger careers, I think.
Her new series on Hulu looks fantastic, which is the only thing keeping me from being even more enraged at her loss to an actor that once whitewashed an Indigenous role.
