This is why I don't eat meat from the shops.
I keep a few sheep of my own and they get to live natural lives. I ensure they always have plenty to eat, are free from pests and diseases, and I protect them from predators. In return I get cruelty free meat.

I'll add that I slaughter them myself at home, and ensure they have no idea what's coming.
Think of all the wild animals that could have lived on farmland...
I live in a climate where it simply isn't possible to grow enough plants to feed me. Would you have me ship in food with the carbon footprint that entails?
I absolutely agree with you that AARRRGriculture practice has become utterly barbaric. If you live in a climate where a diverse range of food plants can be grown, vegan is absolutely the answer. That just isn't possible for everyone. I cannot eat grass. 🫶
