Here's my strategy. Ya go to an Energizer Station and ask for a bag. You got the bag now. THEN, you mention you need to renew your membership. Now they give you the BIG bag for your membership, and they're not going to ask for the small bag back. Now you got 2 bags. Both sizes. Every year.
