Their track record with trans folks is not good. Be careful

If they give you trouble, stand your ground

I'll always shill for taking the train. I've taken Amtrak from Buffalo to NYC and from Buffalo to Chicago and it's so much better than flying. The seats are roomy and comfortable enough to sleep in, the views are great, and you can get up and go to the dining car. Also trains are just rad.

The ability to just get up and walk around whenever you want is really want sold it for me the first time I did it. On a plane you're stuck in that tiny uncomfortable seat, and even if it's a short flight I just hate not being able to move

Amtrak are fucking amazing.

I cannot recommend the roomette enough, for those physically able enough to be in that small a space. We travel to and from LA and other parts of the US on Amtrak all the time, and adore it.

Amtrak is the only way I transit the west coast these days (short of just driving). If you get a sleeper cab they treat you like royalty for the price of usual plane ticket. Boarding is the lowest stress I've ever had on long distance transit. And yeah the sights are gorgeous.

It's what I did for my trip to Blizzcon all those years ago. Was a fun experience, minus the mini jog I had to do to get to my connecting train on the return trip lmao
