The Thing From Another World, at least in terms of how many rip-offs it inspired (and still inspires today). Not sure if it falls on the boundary of horror too much in that respect though - endless movies about people in corridors with a monster, but not sure any have much to say about the world.

It definitely influenced horror. The first of the modern SF films that owes so much to it is ALIEN (1979).
And many others.

In contrast Forbidden Planet and Day The Earth Stood Still feel stuck in their era - too tethered to post-war expansionism and atomic age pacifism in both theme and aesthetic to say they truly had an impact on the genre to this day.

In isolation yes, but they still had important influences on future SF.
FP was Roddenberry's template for Star Trek. That's enough said right there.
And TDTESS presented aliens as peaceful visitors, with the military-industrial complex as the bad guys.
Draws a line to Spielberg and James Cameron.

I don’t know about the SF cinema industry, but The Day the Earth Stood Still had the most impact on me. Forbidden Planet was too much fun and never enjoyed the mayhem in The Thing.
