The vast majority of the cost of this project stems from Council's refusal to allow general traffic lanes to be repurposed as bus lanes.
Baseline is already 4 lanes across, and rather than repurposing 2 of them we must *add* 2 more, at incredible cost.

Ottawa is spending 15.5 million for this one intersection, which we will need to rebuild with center lanes when we eventually get around to the 500 million, 14.5km Baseline BRT project.
