Out of curiosity, did you study pictures of bodies or models when you were honing your skill? Just asking as I have trouble making a fully-fleshed out body in my mind from scratch.

Almost never. Once I used 3D models which I made is SketchUp. But searching reference or posing 3D dummy takes too much time. So I am doing it "raw"😄
Visualization can be trained.
For me main rule of art is "know EXACTLY what you want to draw". Rest is practice.
