(2/2) in my original video I mentioned seeing my grandma make it for the first time and I was confused that she used a white potato because I thought that was weird, but potatoes are conduit vegetables. They take on whatever flavor you add to them. This tastes like milder sweet potato pie. Its yummy
I’ve been eating this pie for my whole life. My great grandma would make it for the holidays along with sweet potato and buttermilk pies. This pie became popular in the 40s during the Great Depression, because sweet potatoes were expensive and sometimes people ain’t have it like that. (1/2)
To be honest, I thought someone paid you to do this. Now I know this is for real. But I'm still not trying it. Mainly because I rarely eat pie. But if I'm going to it will be sweet potato or rhubarb. Maybe an apple pie here or there.
A pie that’s been around just as long at the buttermilk pie babe. Potato, buttermilk, and sweet potato are all in the table in my family during Thanksgiving
I've seen white yams and purple yams used in lieu of sweet potatoes. I went to your original video and learned something. You definitely brought something new to my world with russets. Idk if i could do that hearty of a potato sweet, though.
@kevonstage.bsky.social sir, I’m gonna need you to taste my grandma’s pie. I’m down the street and can deliver a slice to you. I’m a pastry chef, and I know a little bit about pies ❤️
This is the first time I've seen the use of a potato that I did not morally agree with. Please do not serve me no sugar, mash potato pie this Thanksgiving.
