It's an artifact of the userbase. A lot of adult content creators and other kinds of sex workers have been pushed out of other platforms and have been looking for an alternative for a very long time so a disproportionate number of us migrated very early on. It happens a lot with new spaces.

i also think part of the problem, for me anyway, is that i interact with a lot of artist content. i’ve noticed that in a lot of social media platforms not just bluesky certain art styles seem to be associated within the algorithm as porn or fetish content, and so interacting with that art style 1/

It's rough right now. Bsky openly doesn't have a proper "algorithm". It simply sends you content most similar to your interactions.

As such, it seems like "Kink" in general is considered an interest and engaging with even a few kinks will send MANY more your way...whether you want them or not...

Yeah, I've been getting some extreme fetish stuff for the past 3 weeks, none of them are kinks I draw, nor ones I like, nor content from people I follow.

I'm unphased by it but it definitely make finding cool stuff much harder.
