Not only does that feel transactional to me, but it also kind of... Misses the point of practicing hypnosis directly with someone? It's the same reason why I'm not actually a huge fan of the word "induction". It implies you're inducing something, "making" something happen within someone,

when the reality is that it's more of a dance between the hypnotist and the subject/subject's mind. All parties work TOGETHER to reproduce the hypnotic phenomena they want to create, and the fact that a lot of people don't really realise that is a little concerning.

It's not like you can't create these dynamics *by* working together with a hypnotist, either. Or really, whatever dynamic or dynamics each party involved desires. The subject is always an active participant and contributor. Always.

Finally, I just want to say that it can be a little toxic towards hypnotists for subjects to have this "I want someone to DO this to me" mentality. It creates an unnecessary amount of pressure, like the subject EXPECTS you to do that to them, and can become toxic very quickly!!!

I feel like this is one of those things that's come about because of the way hypnosis is depicted across media. It's almost exclusively shown as something that is done TO someone, very often without consent of the subject, giving this misconception of how it is supposed to be done.

i don't think this is limited to hypnosis, it applies more generally to kink too.

when i see someone new posting about how they want to be a 24/7 submissive slave to a stranger i really wanna sit them down and tell them to be careful...

Yeah, this applies to kink stuff as a whole pretty easily. I just speak about it within the specifics of hypnosis because I've uh. Ran into this a lot! Too many times! god help me im crashing out

I definitely thought like that at first when starting in this side of hypnosis, the side of actually being hypnotized by someone. But I think over time I managed to turn it more into "I wanna do this". Cause hypnosis at the end of the day, is about subject and hypnotist doing fun shit together imo.
