It's actually so upsetting how the narrative around homophobia and other such issues has changed from "it's not acceptable to be prejudice" to "it's your right to be prejudice"
And yes, this is about you Sam Morsy. You ignorant pillock.
No wonder footballers won't come out.

Nowadays we get this (anti) virtue signalling pish.
I once got invited on to Sky Sports as a benchmark for how not to play the game.
But my cat couldn't make it.
When someone refuse to wear the armbands but promote a gambling company at the same time I just see them as a hypocritical bigot
Making him Captain, and keeping him as Captain is pretty shitty though.
When I thought that was going to cause issues & unwanted arguments with other people I'd default to my English team, Ipswich.
Guess that's fucked now 😒
I disrespect everybody equally
You can object to Morsy message but not to Morsy himself, that's basic discrimination law and ranking protected characteristics.
I agree with all you've written Jimmy, I've found this a really challenging one to get my head around, it gets at the heart of a lot
Although I still think disagreeing with something outside of a persons control is a different ballpark to something that is.
My brother in law actually left the church because of this issue. He is the most tolerant person of others I know.
Different freedoms butting up against each other.
Fundamentally I think it's an issue of people being disconnected from difference. Both ways.
But fair play if it's not something that bothers you. Not about to tell you how to feel.
Anyway, that's how I feel about it. I might be wrong about everything.
Thanks for having an insightful discussion that got my morning coffee brain going.
Only one clown in amongst all the comments
But I found it interesting what you wrote about choice. I haven't read it, but I did read "Nudge" and am more skeptical about choice and freedom.
It made me more pro government, because it feels like it's either that or businesses....
Between this perspective on free will and Daniel Kahneman's research/thoughts on our lack of rational behavior (huge implications on econ theory esp capitalism here)... I do think we might have a similar view.
And don’t bring up legal points, because it’s also not illegal to do what he did.
It’s prejudice to enforce your beliefs and not allow others their own.
E.g. I think drinking is bad. You think it’s good. You shouldn’t force me to wear a beer brand logo…
People are born gay. They are born black etc etc
If I have to explain that to you god help us all.
To me everything you’ve said is garbage, yet I still give you your god given rights and respect.
Imagine being forced to worship God, who more than half the world believe is the truest truth.
Not even half the world can make you see things their way
But you’ve no right to force me to agree with your view of the world.
And you’ve no right to make me wave your flag when I’ve not joined your group by choice…
And there’s other opinions yk..
Do you know how biology works mate?
That's sort of how it works
You have no idea what science is clearly.. you treat it as a self serving tool and pick out what you like.
It’s a social construct just as the rest of your pseudo-science
The point isn't WHAT the colour is. It's being prejudice against it.

Heard this argument: "But he could get beat up in his country for wearing it."
FUCK THAT! People get beat up every day in every country for loving the same sex.
It's so poor. The Premier League can't have a rainbow laces policy that is opt in.
love - real
Granted, I agree with it. But I respect anybodys beliefs as long as they don't negatively impact others. In my view, Sams did.
