I've really loved that Paul McCartney has been ending his shows with "Golden Slumbers" / "Carry That Weight" / "The End" in recent years. Quiet emotional devastation from late-period Beatles given its proper due.

One of the reasons that early on I was a supporter of Hard Rock Cafe's and collected many pins was they put up, "The love you take is equal to the love you make" in huge letters around the ceiling of their restaurants.
I remember in a documentary a fan broke into the grounds of John Lennon’s home, and when John talked to him, as he does, the fan expressed that John understood him and “you have to carry that weight” spoke to his soul. John said, “but that’s Paul.”
Not to take anything away from the musical brilliance, my impression is folks took that last line as a mantra, and I look around now at the legacy of that time thinking "Wait, you were supposed to create love, that was the point"
There’s been some criticism about his voice (he’s 82…come on people) from some. Honestly though, the culmination of “The End” hits even harder and more emotionally for me because of it. So glad he’s still doing what he loves.
