https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5sVfTPaxRwk it's a popular channel that most people probably already see, but still a good video about the costs of meat, and important to call it what it is - animal torture

veganism works the same way buying organic and better quality meat works, because you're showing companies what you're willing to support and what they should invest in, even if you're buying only a few vegan meals or just plants it adds up over time to make a difference
I really like referring to a vegan lifestyle as a boycott (a permanent one, essentially) bc that's what it is at its core. You cannot financially support this industry & claim to be fighting against it; same goes for popular boycotts like Chick-fil-A, pro-Israel companies, Hobby Lobby, etc.
This is such an important message. Even if people just cut back on the amount of meat we consume, it helps out tremendously. Also good to support local vegan businesses even if you aren't vegan since the food/products are just as good (and sometimes better) than regular fast food places.
I’m kinda in between of a vegan and vegetarian, I think. I refuse to use products or anything used to harm/testes on animals in anyway even parent companies but I still eat meat/fish. It should be a law animals should live the best lifestyle and grass fed
Not a fan of the "but we can breed and kill them ethically" angle the video seems to take. Still, maybe it'll make people a bit more receptive to veganism.
personally neither am I, but I think the awareness of animals' living conditions helps people gravitate towards veganism more than going directly to it (in my experience talking to people), and sadly other alternatives like lab grown meat are still so early in development/repulsive to most people
it's a bit of a compromise, and one that, as much as ethical vegetarians/vegans will disagree with, is probably more useful than drawing a hard line. wording things in a way that makes people immediately jump to being defensive is counterproductive, even if it's correct, because they'll stonewall.
I'm vegetarian because I just don't really enjoy eating meat, and I think seafood is meh at best, so I don't have much skin in the game here. It's not realistic to assume everyone is willing to stop eating meat, but it's very realistic to ask them to think for a moment before making purchases.

If something is bad, doing it just a little is still bad.
