LaVine with Jokic works. It would be a great pairing, especially in the PnR. But then 5 of your top 8 rotation players would be guards, and you’d *have* to play Saric, Zeke or DJ as the 9th to have any prayer of rebounding. I just don’t see it improving the team. At all. - ThreadSky

Do you really think that Chicago is going to take either one of Dario or Zeke in addition to giving up Ayo? Both Zeke & Dario are negative contracts.

Those two are separate headaches that probably won’t get solved this season.

Not sure I see a trade that makes total sense given our only asset is MPJ, but they traded Caruso for Giddey straight up when OKC was sitting on eleventy hundred picks, so who knows what kind of dumb shit AK would do.

It does, but I’d be curious why Chicago would take on so much salary without draft assets along with it. There could be a series of moves that leads to LaVine making sense but one-to-one for MPJ won’t be it.

Moving off those 2 is 💯 essential. But it might happen in a more lackluster exchange similar to the way Booth moved Reggie Jackson in the offseason. It’s just hard to imagine getting anything valuable in return for either or both of those two jabronis.

I think this is an accurate perspective. Zach is a good player - but if your only trade piece is MPJ, the absence of his role in the system is too glaring. Plus, Jamal and Zach have very similar skillsets & deficiencies. Doubling up while creating a notable absence seems risky.
