Letitia James of New York, along with 11 other state attorneys general, announced plans to sue over a cost-cutting initiative that gave young aides to Elon Musk extensive access to critical federal computer systems.

First, don’t fuck with NY. Second, once all the tech brows are defeated and jailed and Trump gone let’s force the government to issue all new SS#s for all 364,000,000 citizens worldwide. Make Elon and Trump pay for the expense.
Thanks to these state attorneys general. Proper legal process can take time, this blitzkrieg of attacks on our government leaves little room to breathe.
The reason they have not is because they do not care. They have chosen to allow it and are throwing the entire country under the bus, hoping they get some of the money stolen, too. That's all they care about is their money.
Do we know which states? I know I wrote to my AG on Monday. Would like to think he's on the list. My R-congress critters have done nothing, responded to nothing.
I will say, Ive gotten some great response and reception at my AG’s office (who is involved in this) when I shared my concerns. They are working incredibly hard to save this country. I’m deeply appreciative and grateful for their hard work and dedication. This must be such a heavy lift for them.
Thank you for the good fight. When I make my calls, I cover the fact that some of their constituents aren’t even fully in on the abuse (read, write etc) They would be appalled and this needs to be explained better to the older crowd. Florida are you listening !!?
Definitely keep calling. I suspect that they are also dividing and conquering. You may see them each filing different rounds of litigation and then joining each other’s litigation as we go along that would be my guess - they realize time is at the essence. At least that’s what I’m hopeful for.
This part actually makes sense to me. I was surprised to also not see OR or WA on the list, Oregon has some of the strictest data privacy laws in the country. That being said, they may be waiting to file here, also.
He's such a fucking joke. My husband's from Ohio. During the pandemic his sister and brother threatened to kill us. He was a cop at the time but recently lost his badge after putting his baby's mother in the hospital. We actually had cops in Ohio calling and threatening us. The AG's office did 💩.
Thank you @philweiser.bsky.social for all you do for Colorado and the rule of law nationwide. Can we subpoena Musk and arrest him if he refuses to comply?
For thousands of years, this would have already happened. Native American tribes recognized this (hording of wealth) as the sickness it truly was. Often they were exiled, or killed, then assets split up among the tribe.
I'd be fine with that. Pop a hundred bucks my way when ya get him to do that? There are others who could use more, I'd be tickled not to have to cook dinner. 🤷🏼♀️
It's something, but we should recognize that the courts probably can't help us. In the absence of an enforcement mechanism and the very real likelihood that appeals and nonsense will prevent us from seeing much or any accountability via the courts
Well, three courts have blocked the attempt to end birthright citizenship so, there might be more challenges to throwing away longstanding protections. Meanwhile, it isn't stopping fElon from wrecking our departments and institutions....
While I'm personally saddled with Glenn "Red Vest" Youngkin, I'm so grateful to Letitia James for the badass way in which she advocates for the people. 😍
Wow! Thank goodness the democrats are fighting this by going high! I'm sure the justice department and supreme court will do the right thing once it reaches the court in a few years' time! Can't believe those criminals took over everything within a couple days! I'm sure they'll get their justice!
Not the message you want to send. Republicans are going to hear they’re concerned about cost cuts. The problem is explicitly DOGE having illegal access to critical federal infrastructure and information. This would be fine if there was oversight and we knew what they were doing.
Honest question: we all see what’s happening and know it’s all illegal…why hasn’t anyone been arrested? Anyone else would’ve been by now? Is it congress that starts it? Presidential pardon? The fake office designation? There’s a lot that can be taken and done with our info before a court date.
Interesting fact: if the Federal judiciary judges against Musk and he ignores it ... even though the FBI won't do anything about it, the judiciary can "cross-deputize" LEO of other states as Federal agents.
Now could they bust him? Hmm, something new to try.
@joshkaulwi.bsky.social Wisconsin should be on this list! Their residents weren't exempt from this theft of personal information. What steps are you taking to safeguard Wisconsinites?
Out to lunch, apparently. I know the AG is supposed to handle this stuff, but he's the leader of our state... he could at least address our concerns. It's like wa. dems don't realize things have changed, for them it's business as usual.
They are going after Chicago in particular, but Illinois in general, over our law enforcement “working against” ICE. And our sanctuary status of course.
Same here. I did the form a few hours before he actually got into the Treasury, called the office yesterday since there had been no response and was told to try the online form, and resubmitted the form today upon hearing the news. She said lots of people were calling them-- good!
I just filed a civil rights complaint with her regarding the websites doxxing/targeting federal employees since those are being hosted through GoDaddy and NameCheap, both with AZ addresses. I welcome you and everyone else to do the same.
https://www.azag.gov/complaints/civil-rights and then you can add in the complaint for https://Godaddy.com LLC (for deiwatchlist and deptofedwatchlist), 100 S Mill Ave, Tempe, AZ 85281, US and then another one for NameCheap (for dhswatchlist) 4600 E Washington St Ste 305, Phoenix, Arizona 85034
Call your State Attorney General’s office! I called on Monday and was assured that my concerns and request would be noted and passed along.
Thank you AG Ellison!
And here in NC the GOP members of our General Assembly have introduced a bill that would prevent our AG from challenging any Trump orders. Thank goodness we broke their super majority despite gerrymandering but it is so infuriating!
I am so disturbed by how much access they have gained to these systems & therefore gained access to our personal data. Then fed to AI programs. This is theft, this is invasion of privacy. This is not okay. Never would I have consented to a program like this had it been offered to the people.
And now as we know, he is attacking services and programs the people including myself & my family rely on: Medicaid, Medicare, he is in the DOE & has accessed the information of student loans recipients (me literally right now), we receive SNAP/TANF. He and Vought will tear this country to shreds.
I'm in a similar boat as you. I knew it could happen here and probably would, but I was hoping the response to it would be a little more... direct? Useful? It's almost as though the gov't is geared towards helping the rich at the expense of everyone else. Hmmmm
I just wish the people representing us would have needed the warnings & would show us we are worth fighting for. I'm relieved to see them picking up energy the last couple days but it felt like we were pulling them out of dream land to get them to snap out of it & start moving ffs.
I'm right there with you! Millions of us are, it's maddening to know that it took millions of us speaking out for them to act. Like, we knew project 2025 was real, why didn't the dems make a battle plan? And now the fight has come to us when we could've been insulated from it. I'm ashamed of them.
We should all get a nice fat settlement check too from Elon’s personal account. His minions should be blocked from having any job in computer engineering again and need to pay reparations to each citizen for the remainder of their lives. I would be good with that ending.
His daughter is a bad ass. She keeps calling him out, can you imagine how brave and vulnerable you have to be to confront the man who is biological father who is a horrible human being? She is an amazing woman.

Fun.
He's talking about zeroing out Social Security. That would get him into immense trouble, so he better think twice.
Go, Tish, go!!

We have yet to be told how preventing the delivery of Congressionally appropriated funds saves anything.
I welcome any informed counter arguments.
This is canon now.
Please use accordingly.
Now could they bust him? Hmm, something new to try.
If someone tries to start the arrests the President can also easily stop law enforcement from acting.
A court order has the second most authority.
Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, Rhode Island, Vermont.
I filed one with the Georgia AG, but I have a sneaky suspicion that no matter how many file, nothing will be done. 😤
Thank you AG Ellison!
