The Supreme Court, in its first ruling on President Trump’s use of executive power during his second term, decided that he cannot, for now, dismiss the government lawyer leading the watchdog agency responsible for protecting whistle-blowers.

And whyyyy is this the FIRST ruling?? Where the fuck has everyone been? We need our courts and judges fighting for the people and our constitution , but we have been screwed over entirely. And "for now" is not even close to good enough.
Because no other cases have reached the Supreme Court yet. They are still in the lower courts.
They just punted the case back to the lower court because the judicial block on the firing expires Feb 26. They didn't have to dirty their hands for the firing to move forward in 5 days.
We got to see how Trump works. He threatened her career and the school children of Maine. Our Guv is standing for the Rule of Law. Dirigo. Maine leads. We have no doubt that Janet Mills will prevail.
They just punted the case back to the lower court because the judicial block on the firing expires Feb 26. It wasn't worth their involvement so they passed on the case. They didn't have to dirty their hands for the firing to move forward in 5 days.
Roy Cohn was trumps mentor and lawyer for many years. He was probably the most corrupt and unethical lawyer to ever walk into a courthouse. He thought trump everything he knew."
Commenting online feels like doing something, but the most impactful thing we can do is call our congressman. The 5 calls app has excellent scripts for everything happening now (stop president musk/constitutional crisis is my favorite). Take meaningful action! Make a call! https://5calls.org/
He wears sunglasses so that no one can see his pupils. Much like N@z! Germany, their leader was strung out on amphetamines. Only this one is spiraling on what's seems to be a coketamine cocktail.
Yes. We need to pay attention to judicial elections. So few people vote in special elections. The state Dem leadership needs to step up and inform the public.
You know what's sad, is the giant breath of relief I took upon seeing this, because a ruling like this should be obvious and a given to everyone. But it's not, and we had to worry this whole time if SCOTUS would uphold the constitution or not and that's what's scary and sad.
Yup, this is how they pull their shit. First a few little ones pass just waiting for their coup cue later.
Their rulings have already ruled against the constitution in aid to acts of constitution violation of usurpation. Definatively invalidating their oaths and any authority granted.
Does anyone else see this as a stalking horse for what comes next? They opposed him on something inconsequential, now they have cover to give them carte blanche on other things.
Democracy dies when people stop fighting for it.
Autocrats don’t win because they’re all-powerful—they win when opposition is disorganized, exhausted, or unwilling to pay the price of resistance.
Roberts, as Chief Justice, is responsible for ensuring his Court applies the law, regardless of who the other Justices are.
He’s clearly not doing enough to enforce this.
He didn’t have to grant immunity. That’s on him. McConnell is a rotten fucking bastard, but that doesn’t excuse what Roberts did. The Roberts court anointed a fucking dictator and we should never forget or forgive what this scotus did.
“The justices said in an unsigned order that Hampton Dellinger, head of the Office of Special Counsel, could remain in his job at least until Wednesday. That’s when a lower-court order temporarily protecting him expires.”
So this independent check on presidential power is now safe until Wednesday.

Whistleblowers? Very unnecessary. If the government is doing everything perfectly, why do we need people blowing whistles? Very disruptive! Loud! Total distractions. Everywhere. The Supreme Court should think bigger. Maybe no more courts? Just an idea. A strong one. #KrasnovJustice
Well, there is that but, I foresee a Putin's Window in their Future. 'Ya know, I NEVER ever thought I would even THINK like this. This is all so very twisted. smdh
@altnps.bsky.social I think you're being censored on FB. I can't view this post or a few others on your FB page. I only knew about them because they briefly showed up in my newsfeed
🚨🚨🚨WWHHYYYY THE FUCK WOULD ANY THINKING HUMAN BEING BELIEVE THAT A COURT THAT IS OWNED BY THE FEDERALIST/HERITAGE OLIGARCHY AND TAKES BRIBES FROM THAT OLIGARCHY FOR RULINGS IS LEGITIMATE??? THAT IS SOME EPIC COGNITIVE DISSONANCE.

I wonder if they're finally realizing that they're gonna be out of a job real fast if they let him keep going. Like he'll just get rid of the Supreme Court if they don't make a serious effort to stop his overreach.
I am calling for all Americans to start recalling their Senators and Representatives, if they are more beholden to Trump than they are their constituents. It is time to demand an impeachment of DJT and to arrest Musk. If they won’t do it, seat someone who will.
Actually! There are several states that absolutely can start recalls or start being pushy. If nothing else, everyone should have the 5 calls app and be making regular calls/emails/letter. If you have more time, do more calls! https://ballotpedia.org/Laws_governing_recall
Love your enthusiasm and this is where I think I also got confused. We have senators in our state legislation and then we have federal senators. I admitted my mistake all over ‘sky this morning. @hugh258.bsky.social was nice enough to say if you aren't confused you're not trying to figure it out. 🫶🏼

The biggest welfare recipient ever & most corrupt. Believes himself 2 good 2 pay his share like everyone else 2 support the country whose people he got his wealth off the backs of. Hes not better than ANYONE. Hes a bottom feeder. The money is the power not the weak little wannabe wizard behind it.
That’s chilling. TY for raising awareness on that front. Maybe @wired.com would do a deep dive on how all of Elon Musk’s companies have distinct warfare and surveillance capabilities—whether pointed internally on Americans or abroad on foes and allies alike.
The Dems are less than congruent with their message, they would do well to stop picking fights with Indivisible & Move On because they don't like the volume of calls. That's the kind of annoyance we're looking for but then they pivot and attack the orgs that bring millions of voters. STOP IT.
Whoa. That’s messed up. They should not only celebrate the increased attention but provide “assignments” and advice to keep voters engaged. What a waste. I don’t understand this.
She probably owes Gerry. Lifelong friend and colleague. And she figures AOC will have lots of chances. Simple as that. However, things are dire and it's not business as usual. We have to have AOC.

Well, that's something I guess. I don't trust them to uphold the Constitution when it really matters, though. Of course, I'll be more than happy to be proven wrong down thd road

Not quite accurate. They punted the case back down to the lower court. The dismissal was frozen for 14 days, set to expire Feb. 26. So they just didn't make a decision because the original injunction is about to expire. Not really a win. Just not an immediate loss.
The same court that gave genocide Joe the power to get trump &the coup insurrectionists out of the picture forever. I can see why https://pslweb.org want to abolish them. Vichey courts. Vichey democrats. Vichey press. Tin pot wanna be dictator. Running an empire built on genocide ethnic cleansing landtheft

for Project 2025 better labeled --Trump’s de Coup Action Plan
The questions is what do we do ASAP to STOP IT?
April 1, 2025, there is an election in Wisconsin, and Judge Susan Crawford needs our support
fElon is already pumping $1 million against her. Why would a billionaire do this?! 🤔
Bet bro is happy to use our 💰 to support his habits even though he wouldn’t miss the money.

Because she is a constitutionalist (hopefully).
With no exception, all the conservative justices are SHIT.
Their rulings have already ruled against the constitution in aid to acts of constitution violation of usurpation. Definatively invalidating their oaths and any authority granted.
Yay.
Autocrats don’t win because they’re all-powerful—they win when opposition is disorganized, exhausted, or unwilling to pay the price of resistance.
Stay loud. Stay strong. Resist.

But I'd try to avoid antagonising military, National Guard, and police. There's sympathy the resistance can build on.

What the fuck do they actually do? Like for real, what's their actual job. For the past 20 goddamn years.
I have lost faith.

Now is the time for her to pass the torch.

Great. They’re too scared of him to just say no, period? 😡
