I don't think they counted on leaks as part of their strategy, but the moment they decided to announce months _after_ starting mass production they had to know the chance of leaks went up hugely and didn't care.

Surely this would be common knowledge in the industry like this isn’t some cheap product from an unknown company its a highly anticipated new console from Nintendo! How didn’t they expect things to get leaky when the product is being mass produced? Wild!

Yeah. I think they had a choice between something like "announce in October" or "give Switch 1 its final holiday bump uninterrupted, accept higher risk of leaks" and went with the latter.

I think they had a plan and they’re just sticking to it. I don’t think they really care about the leaks as they don’t think that it will have a negative impact on the success of the Switch 2.

I prefer the name Super Switch btw.

It’s definitely nostalgia for me experiencing the Nintendo followed by the Super Nintendo back in the day and now I wouldn’t mind seeing the Super Nintendo Switch.
