My honest belief is that Bluetooth was never intended to work properly. Like fax machines. It’s just there as a stopgap before they release something that actually works.
I had sort of the opposite problem on my work computer a few months ago. For some reason, my keyboard disconnected, but my computer showed it was connected, twice. And the computer refused to let go of it to reset they keyboard. IT had to literally uninstall bluetooth capability to fix it.
Saaamme. I had the head of IT on the phone trying to solve it because the 4 people who had come before could NOT figure out how to solve it. Even he was like "WTF is your computer haunted? I have literally never seen this before." 🫥
There's some freaky alchemy that happens between software, firmware, and all the physical parts that make tech work and I want to speak to the wizard who thought it would be fun to have things go haywire for no damn reason.
Sensible answer: Sometimes it's because of default power settings, and they're set to auto-sleep after a period of time.
Probably More Real Answer: The ancient Danish king the protocol was named after is haunting your computer, and the only solution is an exorcism (or lure him out with smørrebrød)
Because of course an ancient Danish king would be haunting my computer. I have a French moon ghost haunting my phone. More electronics hauntings for all!
It's a keyboard and a mouse. Both run on battery and I checked those first. I turn them on and off, and they mouse connected but not the keyboard. Both are relatively new (purchased in the last 12 months). 🤷🏻♀️
There's a few people discussing something similar here. I'm not very familiar with macs so no idea if "resetting the Bluetooth module" is the right approach for these kind of issues.

I've honestly never had issues with bluetooth on this thing until 2024.
My keyboard likes to randomly stop connecting to my laptop. I'm not a fan.

Alternatively, do you have some interference?
