I assume it accomplishes this by creating accounts for me on all these platforms, either directly or via some new integration. Who controls those accounts?
Not quite! Since Bluesky, Threads, and Mastodon all use protocols (AT and ActivityPub), our bridge translates between the two protocols so folks can interact natively, not via multiple accounts.
I think that sooner or later there has to be a regulation that mandates platforms to use portable formats for transferring accounts, however, I don't expect this to happen before the 30s
