Cairo, a surprise birthday trip for my new partner in Sept 1991.
We caught the #Egypt Bug and have continued to visit Upper Egypt ever since. Love the Nile Valley but you can keep the Red Sea man-made resorts for the beach lovers.

Many trips have. Several childhood ones with family to South America, North America, India, Europe, Kenya, Tanzania. Pretty much every adult safari trip to East / Southern African countries. Antarctica. Oh and Japan, we fell so hard for Japan, we're planning trip 4 for next autumn!

I’d have to say my high school trip to Russia when it was still the Soviet Union back in the late 80’s. We split our time between Moscow and Leningrad (now St. Petersburg). Eye opening, for sure.
