Variable neutral density is two polarizers.

When the two polarizers are aligned, when the variable neutral density is at the weakest position, it functions as a polarizer.

Thanks, I’m just going on the research I did prior that said they were for 2 separate functions so I decided to go with both, especially as the polarizer was super cheap at under £20. Have a lovely day, I’m looking forward to my results 😁

If the variable neutral density has only one adjustment, it cannot adjust the polarizer angle.
Two linear polarizers stacked can function as a variable neutral density, but the color purity needs to be optimized.
