I was going through something similar. I'm trying to learn more mechanical or hard surface stuff (Mecha, ships, vehicles) and it was draining my confidence.

Took a break to whip out a figure drawing and refilled the cup!

ah thank you!!
it's not really about confidence in my case, just tired cuz i work in art industry and as a full time artist. can be hell of a thing for personal art, i just don't feel inspired enough to do something cool after work. but sketching something simple definitely helps with that :)

That makes perfect sense. I work in a highly technical field, and it is hard to take on cool projects at home too. It's what has brought me back to art. Something that works a different set of neurons at the end of the day and still has something to show off! Good luck with the balance!

ur reply actually made me think of maybe getting into something different on my free time to switch activity for a bit, so thank u! i usually go to expeditions so it's physical stuff, but now is hardly the season to do so, just stuck at home making art. so i might think of something else
