Today is the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Iwo Jima.
My Dad, Sgt Gordon Hall, joined the service at 17.
He lived thru 3 combat landings in the Pacific, one of which was Iwo Jima.
He was awarded the Bronze Star for bravery.
He never spoke about how he won it.
