I LOVE what Maria says in the last panel there.
I could see shadow absolutely misinterpreting her words to justify his actions in SA2.
They wouldn't accept him. Maria wouldn't want to live there. They killed Maria. They must die.

I especially love Maria's design, the glasses are a nice touch.
But I just noticed something I never grasped about...
The GUN raid actually was on March 7????
The purpose was to have it be slated at the beginning of the comic without context, and then at the end of the comic with the clarification of WHAT day it actually was for full dramatic effect
