kennedy dying and lieberman going independent killed the public option. Obama is responsible for a lot but massachusetts elected a republican senator that cut into the majority and Lieberman finished it off.

while it wasn’t enough by any stretch, i don’t think younger folks realize how hard it was to get insured. i didn’t have any coverage between ages 18 and 29. i had pneumonia and a family friend had to help me get meds. it was bleak.
everyone should absolutely be angry we don’t have progress on single payer. but placing blame in 2025 gets us nowhere, and i’m going to continue to be loud about wanting universal care.
correct. i always thought obama was a cipher that people projected their hopes onto. he didn’t campaign as a progressive the first time either. i understand why young people loved him but like i said i was almost 30 when he beat clinton so i was already more cynical. i volunteered for Dean.
in 2012? can you be specific? also welcome to politics, people often lie and in fact that was a given on the campaign trail. i don’t know when people began believing anything they hear on the stump.
yes i hold politicians in contempt because of growing up with a parent with AIDS during the reagan years. i don’t know what your problem is. i’m not an obama stan and i shared my experience with ACA, which was an improvement over the nothing we had before. and we need more.
