Both 40 and 43 gave tax cuts to the richest people. 40 started taxing ss to make up for the lost revenue when they went from 70 to 31%. 43 "borrowed" 1.4t from ss to pay for tax cuts for the rich and pay for the Iraq War. He never paid it back

I’m also worried about this but the bill had strong bipartisan support in the House & Senate. To reverse it, a bill would have to pass both houses before Trump could get his grubby, criminal hands on it. Those who voted for repeal might not want to explain a flipflop. 1/2

I don’t remember Social Security Works doing anything to support repeal of WEP/GPO. I read their emails supporting expansion of SS, never restoring what 2.5+ million unfairly lost. Social Security Fairness actively promoted repeal and I am grateful to all those who participated.

Where I live, a cop's retirement is half their highest salary (including OT) after 20 years' service. Get hired at 22, retire at 42. Work 20 years at another department, retire at 62 with a second pension of 50% salary. Now collect an extra $2k/mo. from SS?
