The Social Network is why I can no longer engage in Biopics on any level. People tend to hold a film’s subject matter in some sort of heroic light. Another example of this was Tim Burton’s Ed Wood. That film went out of its way to vilify a lot of folks who in reality were NOT the bad guys.

It started as something called “FaceMash” that was explicitly for guys to rate women. The women’s photos on the site were actually stolen from the University’s student directory, so the women did not consent to being involved. It was a whole scandal at Harvard.

Yes, that is DEEPLY offensive. Data’s entire arc was about discovering what it means to be human through empathy and self-reflection, and Zuck’s arc has been moving in the polar opposite direction with the consistency of, well, a machine.

If I didnt unfortunately need it for work, I would leave IG.
