It means more than I can say to have been heard loud and clear on such a big stage. I hope our community and anyone who felt seen in my words knows they’re not alone and feels the ripples of safe, hope and change I was aiming to create.

I also want to thank the journalists and others who asked such bold and thoughtful questions. You, as the media are one of the most powerful assets we have for making meaningful change and I hope you rise to the occasion. It’s your turn to take the load for a while 😉
It’s not lost on me what a privilege it is to have had the microphone today and while I don’t plan on going anywhere, I do want to share it around with all sorts of wonderful people who represent the diversity and intersectionality of disabled life in its full range.
I was serious in my ambition for NDIS reform and if awarding the position of Minister to Jordon Steele John isn’t feasible in spite of his lived experience, I want to extend a formal invitation to both Anthony Albanese and Peter Dutton ahead of the election next year to meet with me.
