They fought often and disrupted everyone around them. Those are exactly the things that made him so intrigued by them. Twins, opposite to each other, but loved each other unconditionally. He wanted that. Yes, he has his father and sister, but it’s not what he wants.

He wanted friends to tease him and tease them back. To play fight and rough house without fear of hurting them too badly. He got that with the twins.

Rintarou got to know them throughout his first year. He learned that Osamu can be just as loud when talking about things he enjoys, and Atsumu is equally as quiet when concentrating. They fought often and could get carried away, but they also knew when to stop.

Once they got into the second year, they were all roughhousing and teasing each other. He got the brothers he never had.

When they graduated Rintarou was afraid of drifting apart from them. A silly thing to fear.

They experienced Atsumu’s nervousness at the MSBY tryouts, Osamu’s stressful exam days, and his sleepless nights. All together.

Always with another to support them. He was there as Osamu developed his crush on Sakusa, and Atsumu’s teasing him for the fact. They were there when he voiced his doubts about living with Komori.
