AUKUS was a bad deal before Trump got re-elected. Since then, there has been no sign from the ALP or LNP that the US alliance is broken! They pretend not much has changed, except tariffs.

Anyone with 2 eyes and ears knows the Five Eyes alliance is severely impaired.

Trump is in fact a bit of a red herring. The sale of the Virginia class subs to us has always been at the discretion of whoever is POTUS in 2030. If he/she thinks 'Nah, we don't have enough' we won't get them.
