How about comparing budgets? As far as I can find Grease had a $6 million production budget ($31 million today) and I haven’t seen mention of a marketing budget. Wicked part one had a $150 million production budget and a $300 to $350 million marketing budget.

BOTH are GREAT !!!! Highest Grossing because PRICES are higher today. Cost us $50 for 2 to see Wicked. Would have been about $15 in mid-70s. Add UP all the people who have watched Grease ... over and over. Wicked is already a classic, but a long way to go to overtake Grease in popularity.
