A Democracy is Only as strong as the people are willing to fight for it.
This is the Test of South Korean Democracy and it's People's Will to Protect it.
May they come out victorious.
This is how we Americans will have to get like this woman to defend what belongs to us. I admire the woman's courage. Nothing more frightening than a woman scorned
The president stationed the military to keep the parliament from convening. The protestors pushed back and blocked the soldiers so that parliament members could enter the building and convene to vote.
Women in Georgia and South Korea willing to stand up to fascists...
America are you ready for this level of bravery and commitment to save your democracy?
Historically women have been pretty huge driving forces behind revolutions. See the Women’s Marches in Versailles in 1789 and in Russia which kickstarted the Russian Revolution.
It’s not quite the same. In SK you can be brave enough to do this knowing you’ll be going home in the evening. Here in the US you’re getting sh0t d3ad.

An American troop or police officer would have blown her away and all of the right wingers would have defended them as if they had no choice. Bold move here but she really wasn’t a threat to anyone’s life.
Just wondering what Americans will do when US soldiers start enforcing the laws of an autocratic wannabe dictator president? I suspect the same apathy that gripped so many regarding the need to vote will manifest itself when they point guns at all of you!
News anchor-turned politician Ms. Ahn Gwi-ryeong is the one who grabbed the soldier's rifle and demanded to know if he had no shame in marching on civilians while so armed.
I assume it is hard on those in the military with many who are just serving their mandatory service & wanting to just get back to their civilian lives. He didn't fight her that hard & probably was ashamed.
She was so badass though
She was grabbing it it pointed everywhere. He could have hurt or shot her but he backed away. Another soldier was helping him get away. Soldiers were apologising to the people. They allowed 190 congressman to get in to vote. That's how unarmed people won against armed forces.
You don't tell them they're helping to dismantle democracy. You tell them they're defending it and doing their sworn duty to do so. In any event, neither of us has any skin in the game and talk is cheap right?

Entertainment that is funded by oligarchs who want to keep us occupied with pointless stories.

If so.....yikes.
Waiting for the Dems on the hill to launch the first salvo in Jan.
Something like that is needed again
I think most people are still in shock

Being a woman in a Corporate SKorea during peacetime is tough enough.
