Not sure if it counts as High St, but IKEA by a country mile! The stupid one-way systems inside, then outside having to leave your shopping and go and fetch your car. Which is fine if you have someone with you to watch the trolley. Not so good if you’re by yourself!

I don't get to shops much these days, but when I do go to town, my least favourite is W H Smiths. I used to love it. Fabulous back to school stationery, a great range of magazines, books old and new. Now it's just a mish mash of random stuff. It's lost its identity, and that's sad.

Sali isn’t related afaik, but mine is WH Smith too, for the same reasons.
It doesn’t help print journalism that it’s the one remaining chain to sell mags, when shopping there is such a dreary experience.

Ooh, loving this BEDTIME QUESTION lark. Mine would have to be Primark, but only at weekends. I can’t bear the elbows-out panic buying of fake Sol de Thingy cream (IYKYK) and Hello Kitty clothes but I do secretly love their socks and flannels…
