So why cannot you empathise with people who are being legislated out of public life here? There was no compromise or meeting in the middle. Trans people were just told the have to lose some of their existing rights and no-one else lost a thing.

All I'm saying is imagine how scared and angry they are when our own government supports this. Trans people were even banned from contributing to the court case.

No one said you can't be angry. And I never said I agreed with all of Labour's policies or actions. In fact, I said the executions of their policies has been pretty poor. And why do you think i can't empathise with Trans rights? Did you read what I said about my friends children?

It's the way you and others have presented the argument in this thread - calling people Nazis, Transphobes, rt wing etc. It's not helpful.

Do you think Trans people are being denied their rights to existence, in the same way as those fleeing war? See, it's a silly argument - both can be bad!!

Safeguarding the wishes of all citizens is complicated, that's my point. The middle ground is about winning compromises and pushing further over time. You feel passionately about your cause, and that's great. But others are arguing for something different. It doesn't make them bad people!

This is safeguarding. No-one is safer now. You think predators care about a sign on a door? Trans people are less safe.

For instance, there's been zero cases on women's NHS wards where a trans woman has harmed the other women. Everyone was safe.
