I could second everything you’ve written. I’m supposed to leave work at 3, because I’m part time. Three nights this week the kids have come home, I’ve made them a snack and I’ve gone back to work for another couple of hours, because I’m too busy not to.

As Marcus pointed out this shouldn't be in the news the whole time. Covid was 5 years ago. Lots of the working population have found wfh a genuinely more efficient & enjoyable way to work. We're so bored of the passive income class calling us lazy because THEY would spend all day dicking off.

I get WAY much more work done at home where it's quiet, I can have the lighting and heating/cooling how I want, I can get water and go to the toilet without having to do a ten minute walk and queue for it, I'm not burned out by the commute...

And quicker and reliable and not smelly and go to the places you need. I live 8 miles from Manchester City Centre but in our part of greater Manchester all of the transport is routed through one town which is over four miles from where we live. It took me two hours to get home recently.

Yep. As a friend of mine said to his boss who was sceptical about home-working: "Well, I'm really feverish and ill if I'm being honest with you - but still, isn't it good that I can log on and do a bit of work from home to help with the deluge?"

Apart from the fact that WFH is the only reason I could keep working when one of my kids became chronically ill, I think it's good for them to see and hear me being something other than their mother so directly. I spent a lot of time at my mum's workplace when I was a kid and I know it had an effect
