This has not been well publisised this year for some reason, as well as the Covid jab. Only available to over 80s. Its like the MAGAs are running things.

Too late for me. Already vaccinated something still got me. My lessons to avoid the week of illness. I need to mask on crowded trains and should be weary of dense social gatherings as being slightly deaf, my hearing aids pick up all sounds so I still have to lean in to hear people.

Another lesson is to be careful when listening to the “it’ll be alright crew”. We are all different. My immunity may not protect me as well as others are protected, and the value I put on avoiding days lost to illness may be higher. You are the best judge of what is alright for you. Nobody else.

And. Being a man I feel slightly uncomfortable exposing my weaknesses. So men, also beware of that masculinity / stiff upper lip thing that says you shouldn’t be ‘soft’.

Admittedly I rarely take the flu vaccine here in the States. The last time I did was when my youngest was still an infant. I rarely catch the flu.
