I have bipolar, and a spending compulsion is a byproduct of my manic episodes. I received a small inheritance from my mother, and with it, I'm paying off three active credit cards, six charge-offs, one 401k loan, and all of my medical debt. This is a big deal for me. I think my mom would be proud.
