But it's not that simple. The "earn" part has to be considered. Those who earn little through work have a right to have shelter, food, and education. Those who have amassed great wealth earn social obligation to uplift others. That makes a strong nation.
Of course, it's not in the Constitution. It's in our form of democracy which looks like it's being changed into autocracy. What our former democracy entailed was the attempt to pull together all people of the USA as one so there wouldn't be winners and losers; a few rich and many poor.
"What our former democracy entailed was the attempt to pull together all people of the USA as one so there wouldn't be winners and losers; a few rich and many poor."
In a Democracy, the good of the whole is highly considered. We pay taxes to help level the field. We try to keep the nation strong by assisting people impacted by weather disasters, impacted by medical needs, etc. Our obligation exists here regardless of whether we would ever require help.
This area I know very well. My lifelong occupation was Accountant, & I did record cleanup as my specialty. This was so businesses or individuals could get records together to file a long overdue tax return. The IRS not only won't kill you; they were very, very patient.
Objectively untrue. The equitable amount one should be paying is true regardless of the person saying it. Anything true is true regardless of who says it. What a shitty take!
Everybody pays taxes, whether they work, or don't work, dumbass. Income tax is the only tax they don't pay, and why, you ask? Because they don't have an income from an employer. It's no wonder you hide behind an anonymous profile.
Do you drive? Do you expect a military to protect you? Do you use the emergency services? Do you think the state should help you if you fall in to poverty? Do you have a brain cell? Do you even know what taxation is? You didn't do very well in school, did you, "Dean"? 😂😂😂
I drive, & I pay a "user fee", i.e. gas tax.
You co mingle federal responsibilities, with those of the state/ local governments.
I oppose taxation for the purpose of wealth redistribution.
While we're on the subject, money you pay income tax on that isn't from an employer:
-profits from sale of stock you've owned less than a year.
-interest from bank accounts
-forgiven debt
-stock dividends
-rental properties
-gifts and inheritances
Rights???? Everyone, regardless of employment status, has the right of free speech in this country. Maybe you meant this post to go to the MAGA Russians in our midst.
Polls are useless unless you are completely transparent with all the data associated with them. Even then they are almost always not a good source of information. They should be avoided in research.
Actually, they absolutely have the right to do so. Only working people have first amendment rights? Disabled vets don’t have first amendment rights? Someone laid off? Who the fuck died and made you High Priest?
No clue where you get this from. I work and have for 32+ years. My reading of current tax plans by current administration is that if you make less than $360,000 a year then taxes are going up. But not for the $360,000 and up which is bullshit! Research it -
I think taxation is so bad bc the blue states have to look after the red states.
I believe the red states are welfare states with lazy Republicans in it.
But we have to look after them it's the right thing to do.
This gives time for the welfare magats to be on X and other social media sites.
What is meant by “work” even? Does a student working to become educated count as work? Or a parent or grandparent taking care of children? Does only work for capital count? But then, one can make money on interest.. so is the money working? And if money works but not the human… etc..

"Social obligation"?
wtf are talking about?
Source?
Though I do not oppose user fees, in theory.

The IRS extorts Americans every day, so....

Instead of taxing our citizens to enrich foreign nations we should be tariffing and taxing foreign nations.
Good luck
