i mean they shouldn't be either, that was the point she was trying to make. nobody wants them to be one or the other, and the grand problem does come down to how there *has* to be a choice. again, i think that was a rather swift accusation based on a comment on the internet

Well, here's the thing:

the goals of one is actively against the goals of the other. Only one side in that scenario can truly "win"

It's just up to you to realize that this is the case, and pick which side you're on. And considering you don't work in games, I think I know which side you're picking

i don't think it's totally unreasonable to think that, when push comes to shove, some random fuck on the internet will do what is best and most convenient for themself.

oh my god i didn't even realize you were still going on about this. how are you not realizing that workers are consumers, the people who do jobs are the same people who purchase goods. that's what i was going on about, all of us and all the people who make games deserve stability and good pay
