It was literally the only topic on conversation amongst my friends when we went through it. “How much did you make?”, never, “Were you filled with the Holy Spirit?” We played along because it was a nice little earner. I never believed a word of it.
My kids hated that I didn't allow it. For purely fiscal reasons. I felt bad for them that they missed out on the cash and attention, but not bad enough.
There isn't a band wagon big enough for me to get on to download aaaalllll that bothers me about religion, religion in schools, single sex schools, indoctrination, the notion that children are sinful,on and on. Spirituality is a peaceful thing. Religion is not.
100%. I’ll go to my grave bitter about the horrific influence tgat the institution wielded on the society in which I grew up. And I struggle to contain my frustration at all around me who continue to perpetuate it knowing all that we know now.
