The NDP is in the process of getting obliterated. It might lose official party status. As it begins to rebuild, it needs to pay more attention to economics -- and find a leader who can actually talk about it competently. #cdnpoli https://www.nationalobserver.com/2025/04/14/opinion/ndp-needs-more-economic-literacy

Singh keeps campaigning like he’s going for the Prime Minister seat
If he campaigned on being Parliament’s conscious to demand the govt remember the needs of vulnerable Canadians- voters would have a measure to hold them accountable
sides to the arguments. NDP is just a left center spoiler.
All of them are way too centrist, and as a result make people frustrated with the NDP because they aren't putting very much progressive policy into action, but acting like they are, which drives more people to the right.
Especially against a Liberal party that has tacked right.
From the governing party to 2 seats. Elections can be brutal.
It also ignores that the federal government has plenty of ways to get provinces to implement rent control.
And the argument about bonds doesn't make sense.

The whole piece just reads as ideology dressed up as objective truth. Kinda disappointing tbh
Victory bonds in WWII were needed because there was a shortage of capital/demand for government paper.
Clear?
The inequality resulting from decades of regressive Reaganomics draws a straight line to the far right populism of Trump.
Especially when capital is so mobile.
I'm in a place where... I can't in good conscience vote NDP federally.
Not because I think they're evil, but... like I think we all might be eating grass inside of six months if they won a majority.
Most voters will never consider voting for you if you treat knowing/talking about those problems as inherently dirty, and the NDP tend to.
I'm glad Carney has turned things around, but Singh may have handed the country, and CBC, to Poilievre. That's unforgivable.
Any time the government invests in its citizens, there is a cost benefit.
You don’t give away money to someone to fix a roof, you’re investing in preventing further damage.
