it's too easy to stagnate when you can't find people around you that can give you the critiques detailed enough to push you further. instead i turn to artists i look up to and study what they do better to improve. the skill gap can be overwhelming too...

Gods, i want someone to hold my hand so badly, though. Maybe that's why I wish I could afford a class so badly. Even when asking my peers for help, i usually feel like I'm alone on a dinky little wooden raft adrift at sea with my art. It's so hard to keep going sometimes.

i agree! it's what makes drawing fun and rewarding! i just think it can be a hurdle early on for some and thought it might benefit seeing the idea put into words. i know it's something i needed to hear when i was younger
