Thanks to Eric Adams and the New York City Council, Simple Loaf on 5th Ave in Brooklyn went from having a beautiful outdoor dining setup with space for more than a dozen patrons to having space for parking two cars.

I hate that there’s parts of the pandemic times that I really miss. But this is definitely one of them. All of the outdoor seating spaces are gone here in WA too.

Ballard Ave in Seattle actually kept a lot of the outdoor seating spots and made them permanent! But I totally realize that’s an exception.

LA is like this, too. There’s a few spots in DTLA and in neighboring cities that have held out, but it’s so much less than what once was.

I recently gave up my car and exclusively ride my e-bike now. The hostility from drivers who use the bike lane as their personal shoulder buffer is unreal.

This is frustrating; Manhattan is so dense that you don't need to own a car. Why do people insist on more street parking? Put that thing in a garage and pay the $30 an hour penalty for driving in Manhattan.

They've made outdoor seating a permanent fixture in Ann Arbor, MI, and even block off Main Street in the summer so it is pedestrian-only. It has made downtown so much better.
