The media is fully culpable in what is happening. And they have offered no self reflection at all. Every day is an emergency. Hacked Treasury data by an illegal team could end in a bank run. Death of a regulatory body putting americans and millions of citizens who look to america at risk.

One working theory -- many prestige newspapers and TV media are populated with liberal leaning journalists who work doubly hard to establish their "independence" and, therefore, "both sides" issues to the detriment of simply reporting the news.

Agreed! i don't think of their fear as a justification! i think of it as cowardice that they fail to act despite that fear. What is a national newspaper good for at all if they can't or won't make the nation understand the gravity of what is happening right now?

This take is so strange to me. With the possible exception of "the emails", there is far, far, far more coverage (and it's far more negative) in the mainstream media of Trump's actions than anything you have named. The only way that isn't true is if you consider Fox New a primary news source.
