What if the current events are actually attacking specific types of capacity- information, compliance, auditing- without which the big spending becomes very hard to administer. You can kill social security or shrink tax receipts etc by eliminating the key info & personnel

I don’t think we know the implications of the past few weeks yet. Trump might be driven by a deep dislike of the “deep state” because bureaucrats stopped the his excesses last time (even his own appointees ultimately understood why the bureaucracy does what it does). But not Musk. What is his agenda

Something is happening with regards to state capacity. The most terrifying bits to me have been the elimination of auditor generals, the breach of social security data, tax data, census data, and now cyber security. Information architecture is the backbone to running the state.
