Ah right, this is “efficiency” that works the same way as canceling a gym membership or arguing with an insurance company. The default settings are 1) your time has no value and 2) they get to keep your money. There is a certain kind of efficiency at work, I suppose.

The Times article points out the Soc Sec office staff who helped this fellow (after a lot of persistence) is fearful the local office will be closed, as is expected of many S.S. offices.

Once Musk/Trump finish closing offices & firing 7k+ staff, how hard will it be to correct these payment claims?
