At that point he’d had 11 goals in a season split between the SPL and Austrian Bundesliga, being third banana isn’t a nice role and it’s not like they were gonna boot Jesus for him tbh. Even this France performance still needs to stand up to some scrutiny over time, frankly

I think he would have accepted a backup role in the 1st team. What he wouldn't have accepted was another loan.
