It's still dumbfounded to me how the U.S. spends roughly twice as much on healthcare per person compared to my country (Norway). And ends up with lower life expectancy, overall worse health outcomes, and less access to care.

Maybe it's that too, but Medicaid is just federal money given to each state, right? The state has to set up an agency to administer it, and the agency would need a catchy name to appeal to the population they serve.
