Having been able to see the 'Onlyfangs' drama and analyze the whole thing. It's a perfect example of a leadership failure. Which, like the original situation, is not something that can be attributed to one specific person.

Looking for an apology was and is looking away from the actual problem. And it's just going to happen again, more than likely with the same people, minus one. Not because they're bad or have done anything wrong individually, but because they have not addressed the dysfunction in their group.
It's evident that they have a lot of ego getting in the way of proper communication. And it's only through the volume of experience that a handful of them possess that they are able to function to any effect.
Which leads me to Sodapoppin. He was damned if he did and damned if he didn't. Regardless of the decision he made, it was going to be damaging and it was and is a gamble on whether or not he mitigated or caught more.
Guild leadership can be incredibly rewarding if you're actively involved. helping people achieve amazing things is a really unique and very positive feeling. and having to cut that off for one or more people to benefit the whole can feel absolutely horrible.
Going forward they should have a sort of psuedo-gag policy. that essentially amounts to; If shit goes south, do what you can to recover, and after the dust settles address it with someone to moderate the discussoin.

But he got other players killed, why shouldn't he?
Because you always, without exception, address the problem, not the person.
