Since bluesky doesn't seem to be enforcing their own community guidelines against image scrapers I guess we just have to keep warning each other. Here's a new one to block and warn people about: @catloversfanclub.bsky.social.

I follow several of the BlueSky folks. They are working on it but are currently overwhelmed with the volume. The dozens and dozens of porn bots from that other place is crazy right now.
Blocked. Reported first - with a tart comment about how the ubiquitousness of these accounts limits what I'm willing to share (i.e. less engagement from a real human).
All the little bits help. Thanks for the heads up.
I'm guessing that they still don't have the staff yet to keep up with all the operational issues and that reporting will be taken seriously later on as they grow. It doesn't appear that they are doing anything willy-nilly, just slowly.
God they really shouldn't have removed invite access to bsky. Not only was there a hige issues with servers but they clearly didn't have enough staff and the new hires worked in the toxic dumps we left *because* they didn't do anything to actually help the community.
Gosh, saying that makes me want to thank my parents, co-workers, neighbors, my community for being so nice & kind that I trust everyone, except MAGA, of course.
Bluesky is not Xitter, though. You can't get money from your engagement. So is that for self-satisfaction only?
Stealing is bad, I agree. If you like something - repost it with (or without) a comment.
BTW, those engagement farmers could use AI generated cats, I think. That way nobody is hurt.
i got followed by an acc claiming to be selling russian blues and after some googling around, i'm pretty confident they're a scam. account is @/rusianbluekitten.bsky.social
To say are annoying is an understatement. As soon as you block one, the next comes to follow you. I report any of those accounts and I hope, at some point, @moderation.bsky.app will be super annoyed about it and finally do something about it.
I'm starting to get sick of this site's total lack of enforcement against bots and shills. Like I'm so tired of these constant follows from people who are so obviously just following as many ppl as possible hoping they follow back. They follow me, and then I never see them again. So annoying.
I have been a HUGE cheerleader for bluesky since almost the very beginning and brought many people here, but I've started to dread coming here every day. 😢 I hope it's just because of the influx in Nov and they'll catch up but it really seems like they're not listening about a few things.
I have to block at least five follow-farmers/scammers/bots for every ONE legit person who follows me. It makes me automatically suspicious when someone follows me, and I hate that.
Look for the proper block lists. And go through your followers with a fine comb.
Xitter and Threads are very similar - a lot of scam bots and pornbots there.
For me, I feel like a lot of them are catfishing accounts. Lots of women with a couple of suggestive but not explicit posts, looking to scam lonely guys.
I think that's from the starter packs with the "follow all" option.I vet everyone, and still end up with the odd weirdo.
I dont think that's one of BS's better ideas
Not saying it’s right, but it could be with the scale up last year and moderating more harmful bots, scrapers, and bad faith actors they might not have gotten to the pet scrapers yet. I have faith, and in the meantime blocking every one i spot.
I can see them. Maybe they blocked you for some reason? 🤷♀️ This has happened to me before — I read a post warning about an individual, so I looked them up to block them only to find they apparently didn’t exist. Never interacted with them in my life.
I haven’t seen this account yet, but I haven’t been on BlueSky very long yet. We have so many rescue cats in our sanctuary (38), people sometimes think we just use other cats. Nope. They all live together with us, and all of our content is original and our own crew of beautiful cats!
I was chatting about bots today, and somebody mentioned that 'cat posts' as being infested with bots.
I know there are many gorgeous (genuine) cats on here, but more than 10k likes for a post does look a bit fishy.
The majority of my new follows have recently been fake cat, dog, only fan, Namibia, crypto accounts. I block them all. Clearly Bluesky is struggling to monitor the platform
The "bodega cat lovers" is another one I had to block. They just blatantly copy over another account and people follow them back without a second thought.
Thanks. I notice some of these appear to be real people. If they are, I hope this block list will make them take notice. Is the problem that they’re reposting content without attribution?

Also yea, I want my cats from the right sources.
Why would anyone steal someone’s cat posts
I post my 2 fur brothers
I guess, even at my age, I’m naïve.

That's why they want your beautiful fur babies.

2)There are monetization schemes other than ads or anything on platform.

It bothers me a lot.

I think you scared them away. You have a very loud hiss.

This time it says "not found"

Block 'em quick.
Maybe we need to have Macie de-static-ed again.
